What is the USPS Policy Regarding Donation Requests?

During the holidays, people sometimes request to be placed on a list for holiday food baskets or other such donations. The U.S. Postal Service® does not have such lists. Customers should contact local charities, such as a food bank or the Salvation Army. This information is available in local telephone directories.

Federal regulations do not allow any charitable solicitations on postal property or in front of any postal facility. Those needing clarification or wishing to speak with postal management should contact their local Post Office™.

In addition, the U.S. Postal Service is not legally permitted to take solicitations for sponsorship.
