What Does “Better Signed Than Sorry” Mean?

The ”Better Signed Than Sorry” program was created to educate customers about making sure that they sign their VISA card to avoid identity theft problems. Merchants simply tear a sheet from the pad "Better Signed Than Sorry!" and hand it to the customer presenting the card. The leaflet describes the risks of carrying an unsigned card, and the procedures merchants are required to follow when an unsigned card is presented. To obtain copies of the "Better Signed Than Sorry" leaflet, call Visa at 1-800-VISA-311.
