GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, MONTANA

 

Glacier National Park, Montana Stamp

 

This stamp in the Scenic American Landscapes series features a photograph of Glacier National Park in north­western Montana. The photograph was taken at Logan Pass, with peaks of the Northern Rocky Mountains shown in the background. In the foreground, melting snowbanks reveal a lush meadow dusted with wildflowers. Ethel Kessler art directed this stamp using a photograph by Michael Melford.

The stamp was issued January 19, 2012.

 

LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

 

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Stamp

 

This international rate stamp in the Scenic American Landscape series features a photograph of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The image captures the beauty of the rural landscape as an Amish buggy travels along a country road, passing one of the county’s iconic farms. The stamp was designed by Ethel Kessler and features a photograph by James Amos.

The stamp was issued January 20, 2012.

 

NIAGARA FALLS

 

Niagara Falls stamp

 

Niagara Falls, one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, was honored when a new international price postage stamp was issued by the United States Postal Service® at the Niagara Falls State Park Visitors Center.

Niagara Falls is composed of the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Canadian/Horseshoe Falls, and is the largest producer of electric power in the free world. Twenty percent of the world's freshwater supply flows over Niagara Falls. The American Falls, over which 10 percent of the water flows, are 180 feet high and 1,000 feet long.

 

MT. RAINIER STAMPED CARD

The Postal Service® issued a 55-cent Mount Rainier Stamped Card in Denver, CO, on May 15, 1999. The international postage price stamped card is designed by Ethel Kessler of Bethesda, MD, and photographed by Ric Ergenbright of Bend, OR.

The Mount Rainier National Park, located 48 miles southeast of Tacoma, WA, is a mountain wonderland of thick forest, glorious wildflowers, and rugged glaciers. Each year more than 4,500 hardy people successfully climb to the 14,411 foot summit of Mount Rainier. This volcanic mountain looks down upon the Cascade Range, which is a least 10 million years old.
